The city
Many countries claim to be “at the heart of Europe” - but only Belgium really is! Based in the medieval cities of Ghent or Leuven, you are less than two hours from Paris, whilst Frankfurt, London, and Amsterdam are within a three-hour journey. Brussels is not only the capital of Belgium but also houses the headquarters of the European Union, NATO and many other global institutions. In addition, several thousand international companies have their headquarters or operational centres based in the area.
