Technical University of Denmark

Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is the main institution for engineering education and research in Denmark. It was founded in 1829 under the direction of Hans Christian Ørsted, whose discovery of electromagnetism was a key factor in the creation of modern society.
The university has recently merged with five national research institutes creating a significantly enlarged Technical University of Denmark. As a result of this fundamental revision of the Danish university landscape DTU now emerges as one of the three major universities in Denmark; the two others being comprehensive universities, DTU has the unique role of a specialized, modern technical university. DTU is recognized for its international excellence in research; focus on research based education and commitment to innovation and industry collaboration.
The main campus is situated in Lyngby fifteen kilometers north of central Copenhagen and offers a pleasant study environment with excellent research and teaching facilities. As a truly modern university DTU offers engineering degrees that provide graduates with a unique set of qualifications and general competences which are in great demand world wide.
