Technomathematics and Technical Physics

The Department of Mathematics and Physics offers a Master’s Degree Programme in Technomathematics and Technical Physics.

The major Technomathematics provides students with professional and academic training in mathematical and computational skills in industry and other research and development tasks, while
the major Technical Physics prepares the student in physics and other technical science skills in industry and other research and development tasks.

Other Requirements

Applicants should have a BSc in related or closely related field corresponding to 4 years' of full-time academic studies (equivalent of 180 ECTS credit units in the Finnish university system). Students with a degree from University of Applied Sciences (AMK) are also eligible to apply, but some complementary studies are required.

Students, who are still studying or awaiting results, may apply In January-February but the degree must be completed and the degree certificate copy submitted to LUT by 15 July 2009.

Foreign students who have not completed a Bachelor’s degree in English in an EU/EEA country or in Australia, Canada, New Zealand or in the USA must have obtained an approved English language qualification (a minimum of TOEFL 80 iBT/213 CBT/550 PBT or IELTS 6,0).
