Departments
The University of Jyväskylä is a rapidly expanding centre of excellence. Comprising seven faculties and state-of-the-art research facilities, the University welcomes enquiries from prospective postgraduate and post-doctoral students. Faculties: Business and Economics, Education, Humanities, Information Technology, Mathematics and Science, Social Sciences and Sport and Health Sciences.

The city
Jyväskylä is a university city of over 85 000 inhabitants. The city is a safe and a pleasant place to live. It is a cosy and international, youthful and innovative place at the same time. Jyväskylä is a prominent school and university city, with 40 000 students during the academic year.
Social activities
Extensive free time activities range from sports to culture. University sports provide you with winter sports, various ball games, aerobics and spinning. Culture lovers can choose music from choirs to bands, rock club, Campus Kino and student theatre. Friendship Family Programme gives an opportunity to learn more about Finnish way of life.
Accomodations
International students are accomodated in study-bedrooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms. Apartments are located within walking distance or a short bus-ride away from the main university campuses. The rent is approximately 200 EUR/month. The costs of living is around 400 EUR/month exclusive of rent. There are no tuition fees.
Student_union
The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä (JYY) is the students’ very own organisation, which supervises the interests of students of the University of Jyväskylä. All degree and exchange students enrolled in the University of Jyväskylä are members of the Student Union.
