The aim of the programme is to be the foremost Master’s Programme in Medical Engineering in Europe, and to attract the best students.
The students will acquire in-depth knowledge in computer simulations and image processing as well as reconstruction at a high mathematic level. Furthermore thorough overview of state-of-the-art detectors in Medical Imaging as well as the latest developments in integrated electronics and computing in this field will be studied. Moreover a good sense of clinical reality will be secured through a strong connection to the Karolinska Hospital and plentiful contacts with leading radiologists. The Master’s programme will further promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the students by highlighting innovation for new applications in medical engineering.
The Programme will give a general background in medical engineering but focus on medical imaging since this is a fast-growing area within medical engineering.
There are close links to leading academic institutions in the field such as University of Chicago, University of South Florida and University of California at Berkeley. Exchange programmes for selected students will be organized for one or two terms.
