The programme provides an interdisciplinary study environment in various fields of Biomedical Engineering, such as in medical instrumentation, medical physics, medical informatics, and biomaterials. The courses give an insight into various engineering disciplines having applications in medicine and biology.
The emphasis in the education is in bioelectromagnetism, modelling principles of physiological systems, medical instrumentation and imaging methods, medical signal and image processing, health-care information systems, designing of biocompatible materials for medical use and tissue engineering.
The biomedical engineers who graduate from the programme are prepared to work in various fields in research, industry and health care to design instruments, devices, and software and to solve clinical and biological problems.
