Master's programme in micro- and nanotechnology gives excellent abilities for engineers to work in the rapidly developing fields of semiconductor and microsystems engineering. The programme studies include courses focusing both on fabrication methods and on materials physics as well as on the reliability of microsystems. The graduates will have capabilities to participate in demanding research and development projects at international electronics industry. The programme also gives excellent basis for students to carry out doctoral studies. The programme does not require students to have background in electronics, but good knowledge of basic university physics is a must. The programme is interdisciplinary because the advanced micro- and nanosystems are often used to monitor biological or biochemical phenomena.
